Greenwood Construction Project Information updated 10/16/26

A project to reconstruct Greenwood Blvd from Sussex to Canterbury started in March.  They have finished the north side lane, south side lane and the sidewalk between Sussex and Kensington.  

Work continues on the south side lane heading east from Kensington.  That lane is closed to thru traffic at Kensington.  If you need to head east turn right on Kensington and then head east on Oxford.  Take that to Commonwealth to cut back over to Greenwood.  

The project is expected to go through the fall (depending on weather and other delays). 

There also two bridge replacement projects on Big Bend at the railroad track overpass.  All the ramps connecting Big Bend directly to Greenwood are closed.  One lane is closed in each direction on Big Bend between Sunnen/James and Oxford.  This creates backups during morning and evening rush hour.  It is recommended to find alternative routes if coming to an evening class.
